📌 Abstract

This research investigates the impact of barcoding and automation technologies on the operational performance of organisations — specifically within the pharmaceutical sector.

Using a quantitative survey methodology (n=250 pharmaceutical industry professionals in Hyderabad), and Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) via SPSS AMOS 21, we tested whether barcoding and automation positively affect operational performance.

Both hypotheses were rejected — meaning barcoding (β=0.542) and automation (β=0.779) do significantly improve operational performance.
