Not quite full AMFP support yet, but there are some cool stuff that's been added here, and there will be more so be sure to stay tuned ;)
Full disclosure: If you have mods downloaded from the Steam Workshop they will not work with this client!
Prerequisites
- A legal copy of Amnesia: The Dark Descent (Retail DVD, Steam, GOG.com, Epic Games Store)
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package MFC Security Update
- Microsoft DirectX End-User Runtimes (February 2010) (for Windows 2000)
- Microsoft DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010) (for modern Windows)
- OpenAL 1.1 Redistributable
Installation instructions
New patch content has been added alongside this version:
- (Optional) Enhanced shaders from Stayd's Enhanced Shaders v3.0
- (Optional) Lantern texture from Amnesia: Collection Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions
- (Optional) Muted very loud and deafening insanity ear ringing sound
- (Optional) New Frictional Games logo on pre-menu boot screen
If you do not want the optional patch content you can simply download v1.4.6-win32-beta-nopatches.zip and install the client as usual with the steps shown below. This assumes that you already have most of the prerequisites listed from above installed onto your system.
- Download the
v1.4.6-win32-beta.zip/v1.4.6-win32-beta-nopatches.zipfile - Open
v1.4.6-win32-beta.zip/v1.4.6-win32-beta-nopatches.zipand drag everything into your game folder. Overwrite all if needed. - Run
amnesia-Win32-Release.exeand off you go!
