This PR compile and it's working (not more segfault on qemu-arm-static (i.e. 32bit)) i've managed to not using mmap like in the original repository (unlike my comment on #1048 )but I really don't now if it's doing a huge improvement on memory usage.
I can't test it ATM on real device due to network failure. I've just push it if you want to do more tests.
