Executable intelligence
Modoterra is an independent technology studio building practical software, developer tools, AI-native workflows, interface systems, and focused products.
We care about tools that feel clear, systems that stay understandable, and software that helps people do useful work without unnecessary complexity.
Our work spans a few connected areas:
- Programming language and runtime work through Echo.
- Developer tools for local workflows, service management, shells, and structured software projects.
- AI-assisted development systems through Astralis and related agent/runtime experiments.
- Desktop and terminal experiences for Omarchy, including themes, fetch tools, and environment polish.
- Focused products like Dollaroodle for simple household budgeting.
Echo is Modoterra’s programming language project: an effort to explore a modern, structured, practical language and toolchain for building clear software.
Echo is focused on readable syntax, strong foundations, useful tooling, and a developer experience that feels direct instead of ceremonial.
Astralis is our work on AI-assisted software development: local-first agents, model routing, code-aware workflows, and practical automation for real engineering tasks.
The goal is not to replace careful development, but to make high-quality software work faster, more inspectable, and easier to steer.
stasium is a TUI for discovering, monitoring, and managing development services.
It is built around the idea that local development environments should be easier to see, reason about, and control.
omafetch is an Omarchy-native Rust fetch tool.
It is part of our broader work on polished, opinionated developer environments.## Hi there 👋
Our Dazzle theme work explores vibrant, high-contrast visual systems for Omarchy and related desktop setups.
These themes are designed to make developer environments feel sharp, expressive, and cohesive without sacrificing readability.
promptshell turns natural-language shell tasks into reviewable commands.
It is built around a simple principle: AI can help with the command line, but users should stay in control of what actually runs.
Dollaroodle is a simple household budgeting product for planning income, expenses, and goals in one clear monthly view.
It reflects Modoterra’s product philosophy: useful tools, approachable interfaces, and software that helps people manage real life.
We like software that is:
- Useful first — built around real workflows and actual problems.
- Readable by default — clear names, clear interfaces, clear behavior.
- Small where possible — simple tools are easier to understand, extend, and trust.
- Polished in the details — design, documentation, naming, and developer experience all matter.
- AI-assisted, not AI-obscured — automation should make work easier to inspect, not harder to understand.
Most projects are early, experimental, or maintained with a focused scope.
When a repository is open to contributions, its README or contribution notes will explain how to get involved. For now, the best way to help is to try the public projects, open focused issues where issues are enabled, and share clear feedback.
