This is the recommended setup for investigations: start with the bellingcat-osint navigator, then let it load the relevant category skill as new leads emerge—an image can lead to a location, a person to a company, or a vessel to a conflict event. Install an individual category only when the project has a deliberately narrow scope or strict context constraints; a separate skill finder is not needed for this curated bundle.
This collection uses three-tier progressive disclosure:
- Navigator (
bellingcat-osint) — maps entity types (ships, people, photos, etc.) to the right category skill - Category skills (×12) — each contains routing cues and a consistent tool table: what each tool is best for, its cost, a description, and a GitBook detail link
- Gitbook detail pages — fetched on demand from
bellingcat.gitbook.iofor full tool usage guides
