AdGuard Home Integration

I am very interested in this solution, as I have been looking for an idea like this for a while.

I am writing to ask about the possibility of integrating this system with AdGuard Home or similar services.

My goal is to establish a whole-home filter where unpermitted site access redirects users to an error page. From there, users should be able to either request temporary access or a privileged user could input a password to update AdGuard Home (AGH) and whitelist the site for a specific device or the entire network.

Is this functionality achievable with your solution?

Hey! Sorry for the late reply - I was hoping someone else in this discussion whoэs actually tried something similar would jump in.

I don't think this is possible in general. As far as I know, AdGuard Home filters things at the domain level. And more than that, to actually redirect a user's request somewhere else, you'd basically need to modify the response from the target resource.

Because of TLS, that's not really doable in a clean way - unless you start doing certificate substitution, which would basically mean a man-in-the-middle setup. And yeah, that's a whole different story.

Or maybe you've come across some alternative approach I'm not aware of?
