Value with comma doesn't get saved

What is the issue you are experiencing?

When entering a value with a comma (e.g. 5,99) and save, it quietly gets set to 0/nothing. Values are still displayed with a comma, but need to be entered with a dot (e.g. 5.99).

How can the maintainer reproduce the issue?

Set a locale with comma for decimals. Enter such a value. It will be set to 0. Enter with a dot, it will be set correctly but display a comma.

Related to #719 but an actual bug as the shown and stored presentation differ. Also a bug because no error is produced on invalid entries.
