What version of the app are you running? |

I’m not at my computer at present but it’s the latest build. It seems to take a few seconds to load the program, then takes a few seconds to load video files. Subsequent tries produce snappier results. 🙂JW.ORG for answers to life’s complex questions! On 2 Oct 2025, at 18:52, Charles Olivier Savignac ***@***.***> wrote:

Since my previous message, I have installed the software on our Kingdom Hall PC running windows 10. The experience is identical: slow load up of the app, and sluggish start to media files. Clearly it’s a ‘feature’ since it appears in all versions of the same build (25.9.1). Great software despite this though. Much simpler than jw-publisher. 🙂Sent from my iPhoneOn 2 Oct 2025, at 18:52, Charles Olivier Savignac ***@***.***> wrote:

Here’s the link to a screen recording of me opening M3 and playing files so that you can observe the sluggish behaviour.

I’ll do that. Incidentally, we have started using it on the PC at our hall and everyone is very enthusiastic!

Could you try downloading the latest version <https://sircharlo.github.io/meeting-media-manager/download>, v25.10.3? I'm curious to see if a recent Electron update might have fixed the issue. If not, I'd like to run some diagnostics if you have the time.

What is your question?
Why is M3 sluggish on a Mac?
Is your question related to a problem?
Whether it is opening the app for the first time, or operating it, everything seems sluggish. It's like running programs on an old computer, yet mine is an M1 Silicon Mac.
I reckon that from the first appearance of the splash screen, until the menu screen, its about six seconds. It's the same when pressing 'play' on any file, though subsequent presses are more slick. It is the same for stopping a video file. There's about four seconds pass before the 'Are you sure' dialogue box pops out.
Apart from this sluggishness, the program works very well and I am very pleased with it.
Additional context
I'm running an M1 Mac with OS26 and 16GB RAM but I get similar results from my 2017 Intel MacBook Pro, also with 16GB. I have not tried it with a Windows machine.
