Steps to reproduce:

1. Have Aerospace and Sketchybar installed.
2. Watching a youtube video in Firefox and this crash report window randomly appeared. I didn't open any new windows or switch apps or workspaces.

Expected result: No crash.
Actual result: Crash

Could be related to: #1921

Seems like after restarting aerospace, existing windows needed to be closed/minimized and reopened to behave correctly - e.g. moving a window to a workspace with an already open window didn't reconfigure the workspace to split, the windows were just overlaid. After closing or minimizing the windows everything seems back to normal. Happy to upload my sketchybar workspaces config and also my aerospace config to help debug.

Hit what looks like the same crash on 0.20.3-Beta, macOS 15.6 (24G84), Mac16,10 (arm64).

Same signature as the OP: assertion failure (dieT → _assertionFailure) in MacApp.withWindow, on the AX thread watching System Settings — AxAppThread PID: 19153 ID: com.apple.systempreferences. EXC_BREAKPOINT (SIGTRAP).

AeroSpace had been running ~4 days at the time of the crash (launched 2026-07-24, crashed 2026-07-28 20:40). Also running SketchyBar driven by aerospace CLI triggers, similar to the OP.

At crash time other AX threads were mid-flight in AXUIElementRef.containingWindowId() (one handling a movedObs notification, one inside MacApp.getFocusedWindow()), so it smells like a race between window destruction and a queued RunLoopAction touching the already-destroyed window wrapper.
