- Signal interception laws. Receiving, analyzing, or recording radio transmissions may be regulated or prohibited by law in your jurisdiction. Laws vary significantly regarding what signals may be monitored, recorded, or analyzed, and under what circumstances. Common regulated categories include cellular communications, encrypted government/public safety traffic, and private communications. Use this software only in ways consistent with applicable laws.
- Privacy laws. Analysis of signals that may contain personally identifiable information or private communications (cellular, WiFi, Bluetooth, identified devices, etc.) may be subject to privacy regulations. Handle such data in compliance with applicable privacy laws.
- Export control. Cryptographic software and dual-use technology may be subject to export controls under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) or similar regimes. Comply with export laws when redistributing or using this software across national borders.
This software provides capabilities for signal intelligence, RF analysis, spectrum monitoring, mesh networking, and communications sovereignty. These capabilities can be used for legitimate security research, defensive operations, amateur radio, operational awareness, and personal privacy, but could theoretically be misused.
Specific capabilities include:
- Software-defined radio (SDR) control and signal processing
- Spectrum analysis and anomaly detection
- Radio programming (amateur, GMRS, commercial handhelds)
- Mesh networking over LoRa (Meshtastic protocol)
- Cellular tower analysis and IMSI catcher detection
- WiFi and Bluetooth monitoring for surveillance detection
- Network intrusion detection and response
- OSINT collection and correlation
The authors provide these capabilities for research, education, operational security, amateur radio, and personal use. The authors do not endorse, encourage, or authorize any unlawful use.
The authors have not authorized, endorsed, or otherwise approved any specific use of this software by any specific individual or organization.
