I am Research data management specialist with 24 years of experience across NATO, the European Commission, and leading international universities and research centres, with a research background in knowledge engineering, spatio-temporal databases, and maritime intelligence.
Since 2014, I am conducting research and data management activities at the NATO Science & Technology Organization Centre for Maritime Research and Experimentation (STO- CMRE), where current work focuses on cloud-native and in-premises representations of geospatial tensor data for climate change analysis and underwater acoustics, alongside contributions to the institutional Programme of Work.
Prior experience includes the development of interoperable geographic data infrastruc- tures at the European Commission Joint Research Centre - JRC (2013–2014); spatio- temporal knowledge discovery and semantic anomaly detection applied to maritime security (JRC, 2010–2013); multi-granular object-oriented spatio-temporal modelling (University College Dublin, 2007–2009); and semantics for three-dimensional product design models, and information discovery (Italian Research Council, 2005–2007).
I have been awarded a PhD (March 2005) and a MSc (February 2001) in Computer Science, from the University of Milan, in Italy. During my PhD, I studied the modelling of spatio-temporal multi-granularity information.
