v1.0.0 is planned for release later this week. Main remaining point is updating all the docs (#135, both here, as well as in the Authentik & Authelia integration docs).

Works well for me on HA 2026.4.2

Other than if you click Use alternative sign-in method - the Authentik button seems to get you stuck in a loop.

Yeah the loop is on purpose, otherwise you would get stuck in an even uglier view with an error, so the frontend code just constantly redirects you back to the only working form. So for now this is a 'wontfix' issue.

If you want to use SSO again you will have to manually get back to the main HA URL (/).

If it really bothers you and you don't need the backup login, you can also follow #67 to just automatically go to Authentik immediately instead of showing the blue button screen.

I would definitely document it somewhere, can the button not be hidden or at least labelled appropriately if it is to be "intentionally" broken.

Re #67 that will probably work for me, as the only reason I had backup login enabled was #99

Is it possible to have the base domain auto-redirect to the OIDC provider, but still allow access to the native login flow via an endpoint like /auth/default? Auto redirect is really nice because I intend to use OIDC 99.99% of the time, but it's important to have a fallback plan for that 0.01%.

I put 'adding a feature flag to redirect always' on the ideas list. You can always override the redirect by just going to /?skip_oidc_redirect=true. However the welcome screen currently always shows when you have any other methods enabled.
