Hi, I have a similar device, VFS451, but I can't make it work no matter what I do. I was hoping you might be able to point me in the right direction so I can get this thing working... I know this repo hasn't received an update in a really long time and andree182 may not even be using the same github account anymore but I really just don't know what to do anymore with this thing :(

Hi, unfortunately I have no idea if the driver would work with your device. After a quick googling, it seems there isn't any driver ready...

You can try to add your USB ID to https://github.com/andree182/vfs301/blob/master/cli/cli.c (usb_ids_supported), check if it starts working. If it does, you are lucky... Otherwise, you could sniff the USB communication and compare the logs with other existing drivers - maybe you could be lucky elsewhere. If not, there's nothing else - you'd have to write the driver from scratch. It's great fun! :))

Btw, this repo didn't get any updates, because the driver is already part of the upstream (https://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/fprint/libfprint/), where it's (hopefully) maintained.
