Transcription principles #1

Description

@juliajbeine

Regarding Lummunaeus’ “Saul” and Placentius’ “Susanna”, a colleague from the NeoLatDraCor hackathon noticed that the transcribed text does not align with the text edition in all cases. However, DraCor provides a dramatic text in the form of the source edition. Thus, we were wondering if you could elaborate on your transcription principles for the TransLatin files. We noticed:

  • The title page of “Susanna” has not been transcribed completely.
  • Capitalisation is only partly kept in “Susanna”.
  • The transcription lost the trema for Saul (two variants in the source edition).
  • The transcriber added line numbers in “Saul” which are not in the text edition.
