Privacy Policy for TwinPixCleaner

Overview

TwinPixCleaner ("the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This privacy policy explains how the App handles your data.

Data Collection

TwinPixCleaner does NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal data.

What We Access

The App requires access to:

  • File System: To scan folders for duplicate images
  • Photo Library: To scan your Photos library (optional)
  • Trash/Bin: To safely move deleted files

How We Use This Access

  • Local Processing Only: All scanning and duplicate detection happens entirely on your Mac
  • No Cloud Upload: Your files never leave your device
  • No Analytics: We don't track your usage or collect statistics
  • No Third Parties: No data is shared with any third-party services

Permissions Required

Full Disk Access (Optional)

  • Required to scan system folders and external drives
  • You can grant this in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Full Disk Access
  • The App will function with limited access if not granted

File Access

  • The App only accesses folders you explicitly select
  • No background scanning or automatic access to your files

Apple Photos Library

  • If you use the "Scan Apple Photos" feature, the App uses native Apple frameworks (PhotoKit) to read metadata and generate small visual thumbnails.
  • The App never extracts, copies, or uploads the full-resolution photos from your library.

Data Storage

  • No Remote Storage: All data stays on your Mac
  • No User Accounts: No login or registration required
  • No Cookies: The App doesn't use cookies or tracking technologies

Your Rights

You have complete control over:

  • Which folders the App can scan
  • Which files to delete
  • When to use the App

File Deletion

  • File System deletions are moved to the macOS Trash/Bin
  • Apple Photos deletions are moved to the native "Recently Deleted" album inside the Photos app
  • You can recover deleted files from Trash or "Recently Deleted" before emptying them
  • The App does not permanently delete files without your intervention

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy. Changes will be posted in the App and on our website.
